Director’s Note
There’s a kind of magic that lives in the forgotten corners of the world — in the rustle of trees, the flicker of fireflies, and the hush between heartbeats. This play was born from that magic. Inspired by vintage, old-world fairy folklore, “Romy and Jules: A Garden Feud” is a whimsical reimagining that blends classical
beauty with the pulse of the present.
Visually, we take our cues from antique illustrations and Edwardian folklore, wrapping the stage in lacey shadows and glimmering enchantment. But musically — we surprise. A modern score laced with pop, indie, and electro-folk drives the rhythm of the story, reimagined through the lens of whimsy: harps
meet synths, lullabies meet lo-fi beats. It’s old meets new, wonder meets rebellion.
This is a world where wings flutter, where friendship is the most radical form of resistance, and where love — not romantic, but deeply human — becomes the magic that changes everything.
I invite you to step into our forest. It’s stranger than you think, and far more familiar than you’ll expect.
